Season 1, Episode 10: Asylum

"You've seen a lot of horror movies, right?  Next time you see one . . . pay attention."

• So . . . does Dean's phone ring when he gets a text message?  Kind of weird to me.
• Dean's blind loyalty to his dad - have I mentioned yet that everything about Season 1 Dean is heartbreaking to me?
• "Who do you think is a hotter psychic?  Patricia Arquette, Jennifer Love Hewitt, or you?"  I know who I'd pick ;)
• I always thought Brooke Nevin looked familiar, but I never bothered to look her up. Apparently she's been in a ton of different movies and TV shows, but I should have recognized her from the 4400.  Which apparently had a lot of cast member overlap with early Supernatural.
• Kat's nonchalant "I can" and Gavin's shocked face when Sam asks if either of them can handle a shotgun cracks me up.
• I still can't believe Sam pulled the trigger.  Even though he was brainwashed.  Still.
• How the hell did Dean manage to throw the lighter at the bones AND keep the lighter lit as he threw it?  (That's the same question I asked myself when I watched this episode a couple weeks ago).
• Dean sleeping shirtless.  HEY now.
• The phone call from John was apparently the "cliffhanger" for the mid-season finale.  I'd say they've significantly improved since then.
