"You and me. We're all that's left. So if we're gonna see this through, we're gonna do it together."
This episode was up there with Bloody Mary as one of the ones that freaked me out the most, but having just watched it a couple of weeks ago, it wasn't as bad as I remembered. Nothing is as scary as I remembered - maybe because I know what a different show Supernatural has become in the years since, and maybe it's because I know that Sam and Dean will find a way to get out of all kinds of bad situations and to save the day. Or maybe it's because now when I see it I laugh thinking about Erin asking after we left her and Courtnie's first visit to Friendly's "is everyone here so nice because they're going to sacrifice us to a scarecrow?"
- John just called Sam "Sammy", and I appreciate that.
- More shirtless Dean. He needs to do that more often.
- Dean immediately with the "yes sir" - so dutiful. Sam is right for calling Dean out on it.
- Sam and Dean's first breakup. One of very many.
- Dean has like six names in his cell phone. That's so sad to me.
- And... enter Meg Masters. The first time through, I thought I preferred Nikki Aycox's Meg, but in retrospect, watching original Meg again, I think I appreciate Rachel Miner's Meg more.
- Sam's phone doesn't list the names in alphabetical order. That's weird too.
- And we've got our first pie siting!
- "Trusty sidekick geek boy" - sounds about right, Dean.
- "Sweetheart, that's what sacrifice means. Giving up something you love for the greater good." Oh shove it, Aunt Stacey.
- "I hope your apple pie is freakin' worth it!" Classic.
- The reveal about Meg in the final scene was a mixed bag - I was glad that I had a reason for disliking her, but also bummed by the prospect of her being a recurring character. Just as annoying second time around.
Last episode for the night starts now.
