Season 4, Episode 20: The Rapture

"Castiel, you son of a bitch!  You promised me my family would be okay.  You promised you were gonna take care of them.  I gave you everything you asked me to give.  I gave you more.  This is the thanks I get?  This is what you do?  This is your heaven?  Help me, please.  You promised, Cas.  Just help me."
I started watching this show because of Misha Collins.  Well, because of Mary telling me she needed me to know who Misha Collins was.  But really, he was the reason why I gave it a shot - I'd been pulled into GISHWHES and I knew I needed to reach Season 4 to reach Misha Collins and of course I was hooked long before then.

I said that The Monster at the End of this Book was my favorite episode and the one that sold me on Castiel - this is the episode that sold me on Misha Collins, not as a person, but an actor.  The fact that with a couple of words and body languages you could tell immediately that he was not playing Castiel anymore.

Anyway.  All I had to say then:

"Ahh!!  Castiel is a little girl!  #Supernatural #Season4"

Now:

  • It seems bizarre to me that Dean would go fishing in his dreams.  He seems more like someone who would drive racecars in his dreams than do something as mundane as fishing.
  • I appreciated the scene with Jimmy eating the burgers - it put some context into all the burgers that Cas ate in My Bloody Valentine
  • It also makes sense that Jimmy was from Pontiac, Illinois - Cas would have needed a vessel near where Dean was buried.
  • It's so weird to hear Misha not speaking in Cas's voice
  • It was also kind of weird to me that Jimmy slept in his full suit and tie... you'd think he would have at least taken the tie off before going to bed
  • When Anna tells Sam he seems different, and he responds "A haircut?"  Not even remotely believable.
  • The flashbacks, how Jimmy loosened his tie right before he gave his consent - makes sense why Cas's tie is always slightly loose
  • Cas's deadpan "I am not your father" to Claire - poor kid.  He probably could have handled that a little better.
  • Jimmy's dinner with Claire and Amelia is so sad.  "Why are you crying?  "Because I'm happy."  So short lived.
  • It always really bothered me that the demon possessing Amelia smacked Claire and called her a bitch - you don't do that!
  • When Jimmy is shouting at Castiel for not helping his family, I love that he calls him Cas.  With Dean and Sam, it was one thing, they had met him in a vessel, he was more human to him, but Jimmy had only communicated with him in his true voice and form - Cas seems so personal.  I guess it's because he was Cas, or Cas was him.
  • I love Cas showing up in Claire because that means that Claire gave her consent.
  • Sam sucking blood in front of Dean and Castiel - talk about horrifying, that he was that addicted that he would just go crazy and suck blood from someone's neck like a vampire.
  • Why did nobody hide their eyes when Cas entered Jimmy again?
  • I wonder what happened to Amelia and Claire.
  • That last line: "I learned my lesson while I was away, Dean.  I serve heaven.  I don't serve man, and I certainly don't serve you."
  • "Son of a bitch" count - 2
