Season 1, Episode 7: Hook Man

"You don't have to be a college graduate to be a genius."
Continuing the rewatch right on schedule at 8 p.m. after an abbreviated ten hour work day (abbreviated compared to what I've been dealing with the past couple of weeks!)  Goal is to get through the six scheduled episodes tonight and, if possible, to start the seventh - we'll see.  So . . . Hook Man.

  • I'll never understand the dumb guy who feels a need to go investigate the strange noise when they're in the middle of nowhere.  Oh Rich.  We hardly knew you.
  • Sam and Dean got caught WAY more often in season 1 than they do now . . . they've clearly gotten much better at this hunting thing.  Although they also got much better at looking the part over the next eight seasons.  And lying.  Because to quote Dean, that's how you become President.
  • Have I mentioned yet how much I miss the Samulet and how nice it looks hanging around Dean's neck while he wears a tight t-shirt and digs a grave?
  • Dean was so smiley and carefree in these episodes.  Have I mentioned yet how much Season 1 Dean breaks my heart?
  • And more stock footage of the boys driving in the Impala to a song that wasn't actually in the original soundtrack.
