Season 1, Episode 2: Wendigo

"I think he wants us to pick up where left off.  You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business."
This episode freaked the hell out of me the first time I watched it.  I was so busy freaked out and kinda closing my eyes during the first scene, I didn't even realize that it was Cory Monteith in the opening scene - whoops.  In Supernatural and in life, gone too soon.

In reality though, the episode wasn't nearly as creepy the second time around.  I guess it's easier to not be scared when you know what the monster is and you know what it does and you know what's going to happen ;)

Random thoughts:
  • Sam and Dean never give their real names.  Except when they're pretending to be with the park service, I guess.
  • Man I miss the Samulet.
  • The "saving people, hunting things" line never gets old.
  • Finding John and finding Jessica's killer - man, remember when the show was that simple?
  • Dean said "sons of bitches", and said "bitch" twice in the Pilot, but still hasn't said "son of a bitch" yet.
  • Man wendigos are ugly.
  • Flirty, smiley Dean is making me so sad because I know exactly what he's going to go through over the next eight years and where he's going to end up. =(
  • Close up of the old Kansas license plate - aww.
  • Blood spatter count: 0, although we got a lot of drips of it.
