Season 3, Episode 3: Bad Day at Black Rock

Bad Day at Black Rock is one of my favorite episodes of the series - Supernatural comedy at its best.  You have to appreciate the humor in all of the good luck and, even more so, in Sam being a clumsy bumbling fool.

What I said then:

"Sam's 'I lost my shoe' face and delivery: priceless. #Supernatural #Season3"

And now:

  • God, I hate Gordon.
  • I love that Sam's excited to find his soccer trophy in John's storage box, while Dean's excited to see his first sawed-off shotgun that he made himself in sixth grade.  Classic.
  • So I went to IMDB because I thought that Wayne looked kind of familiar and almost freaked out.  HE'S CHRISTIAN FROM YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION.
man I loved that show as a kid
this is what 2007 looks like compared to 1990
  • I love Dean's grin when they were the millionth guests at Biggersons - so awesome
  • Also - that's the first Biggersons appearance on Supernatural
  • The first time I watched this, I didn't realize that Bela was Lauren Cohan - totally weird to see her with long light hair, with her British accent, and looking CLEAN after years of watching her as Maggie on The Walking Dead.
  • Love the bumper stickers on Kubrick's RV - "What Would Jesus Drive" and "Bethlehem or Bust" - pretty good details.
  • Bobby's first "idjit"!  Awww
  • Bela's apartment is way bigger than anything I've ever seen in Queens.
  • Sam is so exasperated when the air conditioner starts smoking - "Oh, c'mon.  I didn't..."  He's like a little kid.
  • The writers do realize that Queens and Buffalo are hours away from each other, don't they?
  • "I'm amazing.  I'm Batman."  Such a great line.
  • Um, Bela friggin SHOT Sam, and he barely even flinched.  Impressive.
  • "Son of a bitch" count: 2
