"I've got demon blood in me, Dean! This disease pumping through my veins, and I can't ever rip it out or scrub it clean. I'm a whole new level of freak! And I'm just trying to take this - this curse . . . and make something good out of it. Because I have to."
This is a really sad episode to me - it reminded me of Heart a little. I mean, it was obviously completely different, but the idea of someone who didn't know what was happening to him, who was human, and who still had to die because of what he could do . . . I felt for that family.
- I enjoyed Dean slugging Sam. Twice. Probably more than I should have.
- "If I didn't know you, I would want to hunt you."
- This episode is the first time that Dean calls Castiel "Cas". Barely knew each other and already Dean's giving him a nickname.
- I didn't realize until this episode that Sam never told Dean about the demon blood - but I guess when could he have? He died, and then Dean made his deal, and then that's what was important.
- Jack eating the raw meat - so gross. Way grosser than when Cas does it in My Bloody Valentine.
- "A rougarou? Is that made up? That sounds made up." I love Dean's delivery of those lines.
- I also love how Dean declares "long pig" his "word of the day" . . . and that he then proceeds to use it, multiple times.
- "Son of a bitch" count: 3 - none of which were Dean
- I always appreciate it when Sam and Dean use their real names - especially since they used their real full names here
- When Sam and Dean break into the girl's apartment that they think that Jack is going to attack - "We're here to save you, I guess." So awkward.
- The scene where Jack eats Travis . . . and we didn't even see the whole thing, but just enough - gross.
- "It doesn't matter what you are, it only matters what you do." So true, Sam. So true.
