Season 3, Episode 11: Mystery Spot

"This obsession to save Dean?  The way you two keep sacrificing yourselves for each other?  Nothing good comes out of it.  Just blood and pain.  Dean's your weakness.  And the bad guys know it, too.  It's gonna be the death of you, Sam.  Sometimes you just gotta let people go."

This is one of those misleading episodes - hilarity wrapped up in a heartbreak shell.  I've watched this episode over and over, as many times as Sam wakes up to "Heat of the Moment", and each time I fall into the same trap.  It's a lighthearted episode, and it's funny until it's not.

And now: 

• "If I ever hear it again, I'm gonna kill myself." Um... no, you're not going to Sammy.
• I say "Rise and shine, Sammy!" way too much.
• Dean's head bop to "Heat of the Moment" is amazing.
• I love how Dean is EXCEPTIONALLY annoying that morning.
• Is it just me, or is the guy at the Mystery Spot super trigger happy?
• "Clowns or midgets?"  I think a dream about clowns would be more of a nightmare for Sam.
• "Forget about deja vu.  I'm asking you if it feels like, like we're living yesterday all over again."
• The old man hits and kills Dean and doesn't even get out of the car!  Okay, how is that not de-"
• "Twice now, I've watched you die, and I can't.  I won't do it again."
• Of all Dean's deaths, I think "do these tacos taste funny to you?" is my favorite.
• I love when Sam's axing up the walls at the Mystery Spot and Dean's just talking to the tied up owner - "everything's gonna be fine."
• I love when the boys are speaking in unison at the table - so funny.
• "No matter what I do, you die.  And then I wake up.  And it's Tuesday again."
• "This is so not about killing Dean.  This joke is on you, Sam."
• Dean dying on a Wednesday is the worst :(  And seeing what happens to Sam afterwards - it's horrible.  Six months of hunting alone and ignored messages from Bobby and being angry and badass and vengeful and PULLING BULLETS OUT OF HIS STOMACH AND SEWING THEM BACK UP, how did I never noticed that in this episode before?
